Microsoft released its April 2024 Windows update with patches for 149 vulnerabilities, including two zero-days. One is a proxy driver spoofing vulnerability (CVE-2024-2623) from Hainan YouHu Technology Co., linked to their LaiXi Android Screen Mirroring app, creating a potential backdoor. The second is a SmartScreen prompt bypass vulnerability (CVE-2024-2623), letting bad actors bypass Microsoft Defender Smartscreen. Installing the patch is recommended for both zero-day risks and other vulnerabilities.
