A team of researchers from the Vienna Institute of Technology (Tu Wien) has developed a new self-cleaning and air-purifying white paint using titanium oxide nanoparticles that can be activated by ordinary sunlight. The innovative coating, which is also sustainable as it's made with recycled materials and organic waste, clears roughly 96% of accumulated pollutants without changing the color. This process, which uses commonly available elements instead of precious metals, could lead to commercial applications in the future.
